Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul (1968)
Yes, please... more Aretha. Is there a sexier R&B voice on the planet? It's no wonder why every R&B or hip-hop singer ever has tried to imitate Aretha Franklin. She has all the range, power, and soul... I mean all of it. And she comes from an era when rhythm and blues music wasn't all about the rhythm, or wasn't just considered that thing hip-hop singers do when they want a slow song.
Her backing band is excellent, particularly the drummer and bass player. The production style is a bit dated and cheesy, but the music is still great. If you can geta copy of Lady Soul take a listen, and if you don't love it then I'm sorry, but there's something wrong with your taste in music. It's just a fact that Aretha is awesome. 4 stars.
