Just finished Shadowland by k.d. lang. She has the perfect voice for a bluesy-folksy-country-ie album. A few of the songs were nice solid lounge blues numbers, but most of it was generic country, which just does nothing for me. And I'm getting tired of saying this, but on too many of the albums I've listened to thus far the songs all have exactly the same sound. lang's voice on every song had the same echo effect, the slide guitar never varied... There's a difference between a consistent sound and a repetitive sound. Too many artists are stuck on the latter. 2 stars.
