It has a good sound, but they weren't kidding when they classified Sonic Youth as a "noise band". Half the songs are about 4 minutes too long and lose any trace of melody. At 70 minutes it would be an interesting concert recording, but as a studio album it really is just boring noise. There is a good album under all that extra weight. If you want to listen to it, just skip to the next track once they stop singing. 2 stars.
