Ah cheesy 80s rock, how I missed you. That's probably the only time I'll ever say that, and it's only because this album is being reviewed right on the heels of a hip-hop album. I get the feeling somebody made a mistake while producing this album. While Bossanova has that poppy jangly 80s feel, the music is really dark and punky. It's a shame. This album has some decent songs on it but the layers of reverb really softens the punch. I think Pixies really missed out on an opportunity to make something powerful. But it's OK. 3 stars.
